Located at the heart of the French Consession in Shanghai, The Capella Jian Ye Li is an all-villa urban resort set in a cluster of a Shikumen estate dating back to the 1930’s. Space planning in these long, deep, and narrow existing structures had its challenges, especially when the aim was to have as much natural light pouring into the interiors as possible. Having created the indoor public areas with the confinement of the existing structure was an ambitious feat too, and clearly our attention to details are highly recongnised here. Only having opened its doors recently, this new luxury urban resort, where Shanghainese style and Parisian flair complement each other, is on its path to be the market leader in Shanghai in the near future.
